3D Print| Version 2 of the Cupcake Light
Finally, the new version of the cupkace light is here. The minimalistic design is much easier to 3D-print.
Get your favorite filament and print it in vase mode.

3D Print | My Shapeways Shop: Bowl in Porcelain
Finally it is here, my long awaited package !!!!!!!!!!! I had my first 4 designs
from my Shapeways shop printed and sent to me for the first time. Here you
see a small bowl in low-poly design. It was printed in foodsafe, oven and
dishwasher safe porcelain and glazed in Gloss Celadon Green.
I had to redesign the bowl several times to make it printable with the
technique. It has a nice heavy and robust weight so it won't fall over.

was printed in foodsafe, oven and dishwasher safe porcelain and glazed in
Gloss Celadon Green.

3D Print | IKEA Hack: Lamp Shade for Ranarp & Varv Lamps
This lid is a diffuser for my IKEA lamps Ranarp & Varv. This way their light is soft and I do not
look directly into the light bulb.
The cover perfectly fits the office lamp Ranarp and clicks into place. For the desk lamp Varv
you simply lay the cover loosly onto the lamp shade.

3D Print | Toilet Paper Holder Version 2
This is the improvements of the new toilet paper holder:
-easy change of toilet paper
-easy printing in halfs (no supports needed)
-the end caps are customizable (flat base is included)
If you want to design your own end caps, use the "Cap Design.stl" as base.

How I designed it
I have used Cinema 4D again, simple objects like tubes. Tools I have used: Boolean Operation, Extrusion, Polygon Tools, Displacer plus Nasa Image of the earth and the Gear Spline Tool.

3D Print | Toothbrush Holder for Braun electric Toothbrush
As my electric toothbrushes just kept dropping to the floor and would take up a lot of
space on my shelf, I decided to build this design. After a prototype and adjustments for
faster and less material consuming prints the little smiley was born. Again I used
Cinema4D.

The download gives you 3 different items, the holder for the toothbrush in its charging
station (i.e. with a slid for the cable), the holder for only the toothbrush (i.e. with a shaft
to hold the brush in place) and a copy of the charging station (if you want to fix your
brush to the wall without the smiley).

3D Print | LED Night Light: Cupcake Decor
This is another decor in form of a cupcake, this time its for an underwater LED I ordered
at Amazon. I use it for relaxation and night light (as it comes with a remote), but it could
also be used in a kids room.

Notes
Print without Bottom, but leave Top on. I used the standard settings in Cura for a 0.4mm nozzle and normal quality and only changed infill and removed the bottom. Make sure that you reduce the speed when the tip of the cupcake is printed so it has enough time to cool down and lay out the small circles slowly enough.
Post-Printing
I printed the cupcake with translucent PLA and then spray painted it with rose color and white for the tip, only slightly so the light could still shine through.
How I Designed This
I used Cinema4D to model this, see the image for the setup:
The bottom part is a Loft Nurbs with two different sized star splines, with the upper end cap set as a fillet cap. In the end cap settings activate "Create single object".
The top part (Icing) is the same star spline and a helix spline added to a sweep object. Make sure that the star is the first object under the sweep and adjust the helix as you like. Again make sure to activate "Create single object".
Now put bottom and top part into a bool object, which is set to type "A union B", activate "High Quality" and again "Create single object".
Now for the last step, activating "Create Single Object" for all the items is needed to get one single polygon object when you click "Current State to Object".
"Current State to Object" will now create a poly object you can then export to stl without destroying the original setup, so you can tweak it later to change the design.
