3D Print | Colored Resin Miniatures
Hello everyone,
here are some more miniatures in 1:55 scale. I added a second color to my resin and used printer ink again. Small riddle for you: how do you get the color purple? See solution at the end of the post.
Small clue for you: I created the color from the rest of my latest colored resin. You can see the results in the pictures. There is one fighter practicing a Tai Chi move called Cloud Hands and another one lying on the floor. I created them in Adobe Fuse, then rigged it in Adobe Mixamo and collected a bunch of cool animation for it. Then I downloaded all in FBX format and made everything 3D printable inside of Cinema 4D.
Solution for the riddle: I used additional red printer ink to my initially blue colored resin to test how much detail or quality I would loose.
Conclusion: only a few drops of printer ink are suitable to color clear resin and the mix should be thoroughly stirred to avoid clumping of the color, broken 3D prints or loss of detail/quality. You can’t achieve fully opaque objects with this but semi-transparent colored prints. More about materials and my experiments on them can soon be found in a new category here at the website.

3D Print | Coloring Resin with Printer Ink
Hi everyone,
I started research for you and the result is these 1:55 miniatures, where some are printed with colored resin. As the amount of my clear resin for the Formlabs Form2 was reaching its bitter ;) end I was getting excited about experimenting. So I thought "Why not try to color my left over resin in the tank with printer ink?" You can see the results in the pictures below, clear is the original resin and blue is the colored resin.
I created the little fighter in Adobe Fuse, then rigged it in Adobe Mixamo and collected a bunch of cool animation for it. Then I downloaded all in FBX format and made everything 3D printable inside of Cinema 4D.

3D Print | More 1:55 Miniatures
Here is a set of items I printed in 1:55 scale for the upcoming miniature project. The designs are Cinema4D presets and therefor only printable for Cinema4D users.
BUT don't worry I have some nice free printable designs in preparation for you, some are my own and some are designs from cool creatives over at Thingiverse.

3D Print | Miniature of a Woman on the Phone
Here she goes again "The Woman on the Phone". This time in 1:55 scale for the upcomingseries, printed on Formlabs Form2 with clear resin and shot with a macro lens. The design is a Cinema4D preset and therefor only printable for Cinema4D users.
The 1:55 scale will be the final scale for the project coming up next, so stay tuned...

3D Print | Miniature of a Woman on the Phone
Here is a little sneak peek to get you curious about the upcoming series about miniatures. This young lady is one of my first test prints in a bigger format. The design is a Cinema4D preset and therefor only printable for Cinema4D users.
She is made out of white resin and printed on my Formlabs Form2.

3D Print | 1:24 Scale Miniatures Coke Bottle
More macro photos of miniatures. This time a coke bottle, also in 1:24 scale.
The bottle is designed by ylvov.
The miniature was printed on the Form 2 from Formlabs with clear Resin to achieve the highest detail. I couldn't get the lighting perfect, so the images are missing some detail, you can actually read the Coca Cola title on the bottle.
Cheers RobotMama.
3D Print | 1:24 Scale Miniatures Wine Glass
More macro photos of miniatures. This time a wine glass for a 1:24 scale architecture
project. I used focus stacking and then assembled the image series in Photoshop.
The wine glass is a design by AlexGoody.
The miniature was printed on the Form 2 from Formlabs with clear Resin to achieve the
highest detail. You could even drink from this glass, if you were small enough :D
Cheers RobotMama.
3D Print | Table Top Game Miniatur
Recently I got my long awaited macro lense and could make some incredible
images of my miniatures. I used a technique called Focus Stacking and used
Photoshop to stack all images together to get a crisp image.
The design is by DutchMogul and called Mouse Pookah Fringer, he is producing
amazing table top miniatures.
Check out his designs and specially this one at Thingiverse.
.
I printed the miniature in clear resin on the Formlabs Form2 with a 0.05 resolution
to get the most detail.
